Vicki Lynn (Hooper) White, age 47, of Sedro-Woolley, passed away surrounded by her family on Thursday, February 16, 2017, from a rare lung disease.  Vicki was born on June 24, 1969 to Charles Gordon and Clara May (Handy) Hooper in Sedro-Woolley, Washington.

Vicki graduated from Sedro-Woolley High School in 1987.  She enjoyed playing the clarinet and other instruments in band. She was also a varsity cheerleader for two years. In 1986, Vicki was a Loggerodeo Queen of Sedro-Woolley.  Vicki was a compassionate person who spent several years caring for others as a Certified Nursing Assistant.  Vicki even cared for her Great Grandma Pells at a nursing home.  She was also a skilled phlebotomist prior to her illness.  Vicki loved her children very much.  She enjoyed spending time with them and their friends.  The more young people in her house the better even if it meant they didn’t leave for a few days.  She also adored her niece and nephew and made a point to make memories with them.  Vicki was an avid Seahawks fan.  If you were within a 5 mile radius you would have been able to hear her cheering during a game. One of her best friends was Lilly, her devoted, over protective Beagle.  In 2005, Vicki was diagnosed with a rare lung disease, LAM. In 2015 she was diagnosed with Huntington’s disease.  She fought a hard fight right up to the end.  Vicki wanted to help others so she donated her lung tissue to research in hopes of finding a cure for this awful disease.

Vicki is survived by her children, Christian/Steph White (Nyssa) and Brandon White of Sedro Woolley; parents, Charles Gordon & Clara May Hooper of Sedro-Woolley; maternal grandparents, Howard and Clarissa (Pells) Handy, of Sedro-Woolley; sister, Bonnie (Hooper) Morrill of Snohomish; nephew, Trevor Morrill and niece Rachael Morrill of Snohomish; longtime friend, Darryl Quinn of Sedro-Woolley; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Vicki is preceded in death by her aunts, Donna (Handy) Bailey and Lucille (Hooper) Greenough as well as numerous grandparents.

A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, February 25, 2017 at Lemley Chapel.  The funeral will be followed by graveside service and a reception at Inspire Church, corner of State and Township, Sedro-Woolley.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider a donation to the LAM Foundation https://www.thelamfoundation.org/Take-Action/Donate-Now or Huntington’s Foundation http://www.hdsa.org.

I grew up next door to the Hoopers. I remember Vicki from a tiny little girl. I was 5 years older than she. My sister Lisa and I played with Bonnie and Vicki throughout childhood. I will always remember such sweetness and joy shining through her little girl smile and eyes. So sorry to hear of this loss ♡ prayers for you all.
