Vincent F. Cochran, 60, a longtime resident of Concrete, passed away at his home on Monday, January 29, 2007 surrounded by his loving family.
He was born on September 17, 1946 on Staten Island, New York, the son of Foster & Mary Vito Cochran.
He was raised and attended school there until 1959 when the family moved to central California where he completed his education.
On April 17, 1967 he enlisted into the U.S. Army where he served as a Green Beret in Special Forces in Viet Nam until his discharge on March 31, 1970.
He then moved to Renton, WA where he met Peggy Fish and they were married in Coupeville later that year.
Vincent worked in the construction industry all of his adult life. He worked on the Smith Tower in Seattle; at the age of 27 he was the foreman of the construction crew that built the largest concrete dock at the time in Alaska, and for the past 30 years has worked in construction building things from homes, commercial buildings, bridges and dams in most states in the U.S.
He enjoyed fishing and restoring antique cars.
Vincent is survived by his wife, Peggy at the family home near Concrete. His children, Mick Cochran and his wife, Josie of Concrete, Nilsine Harris and her husband, David of Winthrop and Mishelle Borjorquez and her husband, Trino of Murieta, CA. Five grandchildren, Cody & Dalton Cochran, Kindra Harris, Chelsea Borjorquez and Dustin Noden and one great-grandson, Zaiden Vincent Cochran. 4 brothers, Rex, Foster, Richard and Tom; 4 sisters, Mary, Eleanor, Dorothy and Aida and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Foster & Mary and by a granddaughter, Taylor Cochran. The family request memorials be made to Skagit Hospice PO Box 1376, Mount Vernon, WA 98273 in memory of Vincent.
Graveside Services with Full Military Honors will be held on Saturday, February 3, 2007 at 11:00 AM at the Forest Park Cemetery in Concrete with Pastor Bruce Martin of the Concrete Assembly of God Church officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Lemley Chapel, Sedro-Woolley.
