Virginia Rose ‘Ginny’ Huston, 93, a former resident of Sedro-Woolley, passed away on August 9, 2018 at Cascade Valley Hospital in Arlington.

Ginny was born on November 6, 1924 in Jamestown, ND, the daughter of Frank & Irene (Boyle) Piechotta.  In 1928 the family moved to Gull Lake, Saskatchewan, Canada where they resided until 1941 when they returned to Jamestown and Ginny graduated from St. John’s Academy in 1942.

Ginny worked as a telegrapher for Northern Pacific RR for several years until moving to Seattle.  There she met Duane Huston and they were united in marriage on June 29, 1950.

Ginny worked for over 25 years for Seattle School Food Services, retiring in 1986. She moved to Sedro-Woolley in 1987 where she was an active member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church until moving to Arlington in 2006 where she again was an active member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.

Ginny is survived by her children and their spouses, Bruce & Lisa Huston of Lake Stevens, WA, Shirley & Bill Karban of Lake Havasu, AZ, Carol & Jim Pletz of Mount Vernon, WA and Dennis & Shannon Huston of Mount Vernon, WA and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Duane; her brother and five sisters.  Memorials in honor of Ginny are suggested to St. Vincent DePaul, c/o Immaculate Conception Church, 1200 5^th Street, Arlington, WA  98223.

On Sunday, August 19, 2018 at 7:00 pm the Rosary will be recited at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Sedro-Woolley. On Monday, August 20^th at Immaculate Conception Church in Arlington the Rosary will be recited at 10:00 AM followed by the Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM. Interment will be at Holyrood Catholic Cemetery in Shoreline on Tuesday, August 21, 2018  at 11:00 AM.   Share memories of Ginny and sign the online guest register.
