MOTHERS ARE GUARDIAN ANGELS IN DISGUISE

Virginia M. Baker, 86, formally of Woodway, WA, passed away peacefully at home with her family at her side on October 5, 2006.
She was born February 18, 1920 in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, the daughter of John R. and Elizabeth Geier Brock.
As a child, Virginia moved from Canada to Seattle where she attended school, graduating from Broadway High School with the class of 1938.
After working for a short time at Fort Lawton, Virginia worked for many years as an executive secretary for the United States Steel Company.
In 1958, Virginia and her late husband Warrel built a home in Woodway, WA. Over the years, Virginia worked on many church committees and enjoyed making floral arrangements for Sunday church services, weddings, and baby showers. She spent many hours visiting the elderly in their homes and local nursing homes cutting their hair and manicuring their nails. Her love for gardening kept her active well into her eighties. She spent the last few years of her life living with her daughter in Sedro-Woolley, WA.
Virginia will be greatly missed by her son and daughter-in-law, Dennis and Marianne Baker of Edmonds, her daughter and son-in-law, Carol and Stephen Christensen of Seattle, her daughter and son-in-law, Marilyn and Bill Wiggins of Sedro-Woolley, her daughter, Terra Baker of Portland, Oregon, her son, Warrel G. Baker of Seattle, a close family friend, James Sheppard of Seattle and her very dear encouraging friend and cousin, Mary West of North Carolina. Her sisters, Ruth A. McMurray of Alaska and Violet E. Fish of California. Many nieces and nephews, 12 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren.
A special thank you to Skagit Hospice for their physical, emotional, and spiritual comfort.
She was preceded in death by her twin sister, Mary, at birth, her parents, her husband, Warrel C. Baker, and her brother, Hugh James Brock
A family celebration of her life will be held at a later date. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Lemley Chapel, Sedro-Woolley.
