Otto “Wally” Mandahl Jr., 66, passed away in his sleep at home on Thursday, October 9, 2014, in Mount Vernon, Washington. He was born on October 24, 1947. On January 6, 1984, he married Beverly (née Helmer) in Sedro-Woolley, WA. Otto served with honor in the Army after graduating from Sedro-Woolley High School.  He enjoyed teaching the Word of God as an ordained minister for several years at Cascade Bible Church. He also performed services as Chaplin at the United General Hospital and was President of the Pastoral Association in Sedro-Woolley. He was a certified pastoral counselor, instructor, and lecturer and lent support to law enforcement regarding cult activity.  Additionally he appeared on KVOS TV, KOMO TV and volunteered for KLYN radio as well as producing his own weekly radio program.  Owner of the Kojima Dojo with a rank of 2nd Dan Jujutsu and 1st Dan Judo for the Black Belts of the Faith International Organization.  Otto was a professor for the follow institutions: The Northwest Baptist Theological College, Trinity Western University, and Skagit Valley College.  He was also a regular writer for the La Bonne Cuisine magazine. Otto was involved with numerous other trades and activities throughout his life.

Survivors include his wife, Beverly Mandahl; his two sons, Tim Mandahl and Titus Mandahl; two daughters, Sarah Mandahl and Erin Mandahl (née Werner); one grandchild, Andrew Mandahl; sister, Alice Phillips; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In sadness we turn to our great consolation, Jesus Christ. We wait and hope for that day when the Daystar will rise the hearts of all his saints. Praise him with great praise!

A time of gathering will be held at 1:00, Saturday, October 18, 2014 at Union Cemetery, Sedro-Woolley.
