WAYNE E. BOUTILIER, 87, a longtime Sedro-Woolley area resident, passed away at his home on Friday May 9, 2003.
He was born on September 7, 1915 in Granville, North Dakota, the son of William & Ardella Ora Elliott Boutilier.
In 1926 Wayne and his family settled in Sedro-Woolley and he was raised and attended school there, graduating from Sedro-Woolley High School in 1933.
He served in Battery B 770th AAA Gun Bn of the U.S. Army until the end of World War II. Following his discharge he returned to Skagit County. He was united in marriage to Yasuko Kurisaki in Mount Vernon and they made their home in Sedro-Woolley. Wayne was a very kind, thoughtful and devoted husband to his wife Yasuko. He was also devoted to his mother and aunt, helping to care for them.
Wayne worked at the Carnation plant in Mount Vernon as the Maint Opr. for 27 years until his retirement. He was a member of Battery B of the 205th and he was an avid fisherman and enjoyed fishing on the Skagit River, Baker Lake and in thePuget Sound.
He is survived by his wife Yasuko at the family home in Sedro-Woolley. 2 cousins of Granville, ND and 1 cousin of Alaska. 3 sisters-in-law, Akiko Kamooka, Harumi Matsuura and Reiko Kawamuran, and 1 brother-in-law, Kenichi Kurisaki, and several nephews and nieces all living in Japan.
