Wilbur “Butch” Nieshe, 96, of Birdsview, WA, passed away on Monday February 4, 2019.
Butch was born on October 25, 1922 to William and Anna Nieshe in Bloomfield, Nebraska. He enlisted into the Army on June 28, 1943, at Fort Snelling, MN. He served in Northern France and Rhineland Germany as a sharpshooter and rifleman before being discharged March 31, 1946 at Fort Lewis, WA. He received the European African Middle Eastern Service Medal, American Theater Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal and the Victory Medal for his service.
He worked as a crane operator, logging truck driver and at a cement plant in Concrete, WA. He enjoyed visiting with people and hearing their stories.
Butch is survived by his brothers, George Nieshe and wife Mary of Sedro-Woolley, Gene Nieshe and wife Alice of Birdsview; sister, Delphia “Sis” Dickinson of Forks, WA as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, William and Anna Nieshe; brothers, Carl, Ray, Lawrence, Fred, Lory, Bill, and Adolph and sisters, Luella and Mercedes; nephews, John Nieshe and Steve Nieshe and niece: Linda Nieshe.
