Willamae “Doll” Warren, 66, a longtime resident of Alger, WA, passed away on Tuesday, October 16, 2012 at Skagit Valley Hospital in Mount Vernon.
Doll was born on July 5, 1946 in Bellingham, WA, the daughter of Charlie and Mary (Shuler) Ashe. The family made their home in Alger and Doll attended school in Burlington.
In 1964 she was united in marriage to Michael K Warren, Sr. Mike was a career Navy man and they made their home in several locations until settling in Alger in 1974.
Doll was a dedicated, loving wife, mother and grandmother. Her family was always her main priority and she was always willing to do what was needed to make their life easier.
Doll worked in retail; at Skagit Valley Hospital as unit assistant; and she owned and operated a small family business.
Doll love to fish and could frequently be found on the banks of the Skagit River waiting to catch “the big one”. She also loved traveling (snow-birding) to Arizona every fall with her sister Alice “Babe”. Anyone who new Doll new that her bond with her sister, Babe, was unbreakable and one of the most important relationships in her life.
Doll is survived by her daughter, Mary “Snubby” Warren and her husband Wayne Siebert of Alger; her son Michael K Warren Jr. and his wife Corrina of Alger; her grandchildren, Kodi, Kilee, Kennadie and Kassidy Warren; her brother, “Bud” Ashe and his wife Brenda of Birsdview; her sisters, Alice “Babe” Clark of Alger, Susie Polinder of Ferndale and Bessie Ells of Port Orchard. She was very close to her niece and nephew Alice “Peter” Davis of Hermiston, Oregon and Dean Clark of Sedro-Woolley and thought of them the same way she thought of her own children. She was also survived by many other nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family and friends.
Doll was preceded in death by her parents Charlie & Mary Ashe; her husband Mike Warren; brothers in-law, Henry Clark, Alroy Polinder and Dell Ells; her father and mother in-law Pete & Doris Warren and her sister in-law, Mooneen Sloan.
A family Inurnment will be held at the Green Hills Cemetery in Burlington, WA on Friday, October 26, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, October 28, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at the Alger Community Church with Pastor Rich DeRuiter officiating. After the service family and friends will gather at the Alger Community Hall to remember and celebrate Doll’s life. We will be enjoying her favorite foods, Pinto beans and cornbread, home-made jelly and chicken-n-dumplings. Feel free to bring accompaniments.
The family suggests that memorials be made to the Royal Family Kid’s Camp, 1480 So. Burlington Blvd., Burlington, WA 98233 or to Holliday Magic, c/o Tree House, 2100 – 24th Ave S., Suite 200, Seattle, WA 98144 in memory of Doll Warren.

    Doll and Babe were more like the sisters I didn’t have. I stayed with them almost every weekend during the summers as kids, going fishing on the Nooksack with them and Mary & Charlie. We really had good times that I’ll never forget. I’ll miss Doll like one of my own.
