William G. Vroman

Wednesday, April 4th, 2012

William George Vroman II, AKA Bill “Hippie” Vroman, was born in Naples, Italy on December 19, 1957.   He passed away on Tuesday, April 4, 2012, after working in the morning sun.

Bill was proud to be a master carpenter. Through a lifetime of experience, he could creatively build anything. When Bill wasn’t challenging his mind and body at work, you could find him enjoying his favorite music. He boldly sang every song from the John Prine era.

Bill and his beloved dog, Hercules, were inseparable. Above anything else, he deeply loved his daughter, Kendra. Though Skagit County was his home, Bill has friends and family across the country who love and will miss him. There will be a Celebration of Life in the coming weeks.

Cremation arrangements are under care of Lemley Chapel, Sedro-Woolley.

The day Heaven opened the gates for my friend 4/4/2012–

    To Bill,
Bill, you were a good friend, you were a very kind man. Your life was short, but long lived in my heart. I’ve known you for 9 years and you were always true to your words, except to yourself. You really did love the world and what was in it, every little thing like a rock to a blade of grass, your love for the wild and free to the grass below your feet, you loved it all except yourself. And I never knew why because you were a good man. And your best little friend, Hercules, I loved him too. I will see you in heaven Bill and that I know, even though you weren’t sure, I know you will go. See you again my ol’ friend. See you again.
Bill, God Bless You. Your true friend,
Vicki Bisbey (and Jonathon) We will miss you so much!

Damn it Bill, what did you go and do that for ? Love you. I’ve known you for 32 years and this is not the way I wanted to hear from you again. We had a few good memories together, and I will remember you forever.I told the Angels to take special care of you. Hugs and Kisses.Kathy<3

Rest in Peace my brother. I love you. I was just thinking about singing John Prine songs with you the other day! “And the yield went around and around”… lol. You knew ALL the words. I could never keep up. I will forever remember the laughs we had. Fun times building forts in that back yard…. and the zip line between the tall pine trees! Remember that!? That was fun until I zipped a bit too fast and slammed into the tree truck! One of us found an old mattress or something like that to put on the tree to ease the impact. There were good times and bad times… and sometimes some sad times, but through it all we are family and I will miss what I took for granted. Hugs and kisses … find peace baby bro.

Bill was such a calm and gentle soul. I have known him for around ten years. My last and dear memory of Barn Bill will be him taking the time to help our grandson fix the chain on his bicycle. Bill had to go back and forth to the barn for tools three times. But he did not care. I had told him, “Bill, I didn’t come over here to have you fix this bike.” He said,”The world is about kids. If I can’t take the time to help a kid, there’s something wrong with me.” That was Bill, and truly I will miss him.
