William James ‘Bill’ Elder passed away Saturday, October 26, 2002 in Sedro-Woolley, WA at the age of 21 years. He was born September 22, 1981 in Mount Vernon, WA the son of William and Suzanne Carlson Elder. Bill grew up and attended school in Sedro-Woolley and has resided in Sedro-Woolley and Mount Vernon all of his life. He worked as a warehouseman at Schenk Meat Packing Co in Mount Vernon. Bill enjoyed video games and doing things with his best friend and brother Joey.
He is survived by his wife Sarah and his daughters Shelby and Erin of the family home in Sedro-Woolley. Mother Suzanne Lowry and her husband Pat of Sedro-Woolley. His mother-in-law, Carol Wenrick of Sedro-Woolley and father-in-law, David Marsh of Custer, WA. 3 brothers, Robert C., Benjamin W. and Joseph Q. Elder, and a sister Amanda C. Elder, all of Sedro-Woolley. 3 step-brothers, Mike Lowry and his wife Rose of Dalles, OR, Dave Lowry of Sedro-Woolley, and Martin Lowry and his companion Jerri of Cape Horn. His grandparents, Ivan & Elaine Carlson of La Conner, WA, Herbert W. Elder of TX, and Ada Nell Duff of TN. A great-grandfather, James Brooks of KY and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father William H. Elder in January of 1995, great-grandparents, Tylene Brooks and Bert and Sarah Carlson, and a grandfather, Carl Duff.
Memorial Services will be held Saturday, November 2, 2002 at 2:00PM at Lemley Chapel with Pastor John Skiffington of La Conner officiating. Memorials are suggested to a Trust Fund for Bill’s daughters Shelby and Erin, c/o Skagit State Bank, Sedro-Woolley.
