AMY G. LEITCH, 91, a longtime Sedro-Woolley resident, passed away on Tuesday, February 27, 2007 in Sedro-Woolley.
She was born on January 23, 1916 in Scappoose, Oregon, the daughter of Max & Gertrude Bruce Zeismann. She was raised and attended school in the Longview and Castle Rock area.
Amy owned and operated restaurants in Castle Rock, Longview and Toledo, Washington areas for many years until 1955 when she married. On June 25, 1955 she was united in marriage to Gordon Leitch in Reno, Nevada and together they made their home in Coupeville, WA where she raised her family. She and Gordon moved to Sedro-Woolley in 1981 where Amy enjoyed knitting, crocheting, needle work, cooking, gardening, traveling and being grandma to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband of nearly 52 years, Gordon at the family home in Sedro-Woolley. Two daughters and sons-in-law, Sandy & Craig Fischer of Sedro-Woolley and Florence & Donald Leatherwood of Winlock, WA and her son and daughter-in-law, Meryl & Mary Gordon of Coupeville. Nine grandchildren, Russel, Tracy, Susan, Terri, Michael, Kreig, Lisa, Aimee and Ashley; Four great-grandchildren, Lance, Jennifer, Bryan and Christopher and two great-great-grandchildren, Cabe & Lilly. Two sisters, Esther Ward of Cheyenne, WY and Dolly Modrow of Longview, WA, several nieces and nephews and her beloved dog, Babe.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Zelda; a brother, Emil and two infant twin daughters.
Memorials are suggested to the American Heart Association or the Diabetes Association.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday, March 3, 2007 at 2:00 PM at Lemley Chapel in Sedro-Woolley with Pastor Richard Coursen of the First Baptist Church officiating.
Arrangements and cremation are under the direction of Lemley Chapel, Sedro-Woolley.
