A Memorial or Celebration of Life Service can be held either before or after cremation takes place. Services held prior to cremation are traditionally held in a church or funeral home chapel where the casket is present. If cremation is completed prior to services, the urn containing the cremated remains can be displayed at the services. Following the services, the final disposition of the urn occurs in either a cemetery lot, niche wall, or kept by the family.
Services can be religious, secular, contemporary, or as simple as you want. It is important to remember your loved one and personalization of the event is important to reflect the person’s life. Memorial services can be held at a church, funeral home chapel, home, or public facility like a park, auditorium, or hall.
