DANNY LEE CABE, 63, a lifelong resident of Sedro-Woolley passed away on Wednesday, September 28, 2005 at Providence Hospital in Everett, WA. He was born on December 1, 1941 in Sedro-Woolley the son of Leland and Betty Davis Cabe. He was raised and attended schools in Sedro-Woolley and won the State Wrestling Championship in 1958. In 1959, Danny enlisted in the U S Army and spent three years serving his Country. Danny worked as a logger, a pile driver and iron worker. He was forced into early retirement due to work injuries and multiple sclerosis. He was united in marriage to Joan Hall on May 1, 1993 in Lyman, WA. His hobbies were building and redesigning cars Fords of course, and the faster the better. That red and white streak you saw was just Danny taking another person for a ride in his Cobra. The car has won him numerous trophies and ribbons in car shows. Danny had a favorite phrase he used all the time ‘I thought I was wrong once but I was mistaken.’
He is survived by his wife Joan at the family home, 3 sons, 4 daughters and 3 step-children; Jimmy Cabe and his wife Mary Lou of Sedro-Woolley, Jackie Karper and her husband Terry of Sedro-Woolley, Tammy Holt and her husband Tony of Concrete, Patty Anderson and her husband Brent of Sedro-Woolley, Tonya Melton of Sedro-Woolley, Steve Weed and his wife Shari of Buckley, WA, Scott Weed of Kirkland, WA, Debbie Jordan and her husband Tommy, Kevin Carnes, both from Georgia and Michael Carnes and his wife Gayle of North Carolina. He also leaves behind 23 grandchildren, 7 great-children, and 2 sisters Patsy Pittman and her husband Harold and Jeannie Halverson and her husband Leonard, both of Sedro-Woolley, and his dear friend and cousin Mike Osborne and his former wife of 30 years, Mildred Wiggins. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Donna Queen.
A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, October 3, 2005 at 11:00 A M at Lemley Chapel, Sedro-Woolley with Pastor Ron Deegan of the First Baptist Church of Mount Vernon officiating. Interment will follow at the Lyman Cemetery with Military Honors provided by George Baldridge Post #43 American Legion.
