Devan Paul Hubbard, 39, a former Sedro-Woolley resident, passed away unexpectedly in Arlington on Thursday, July 6, 2006.
He was born on November 7, 1966 in Seattle, WA, the son of Wesley & Ruth Reynolds Hubbard.
In 1971 he moved to Skagit County with his family and attended grade school in Big Lake and high school in Sedro-Woolley, graduating with the class of 1985.
He then attended and graduated from Skagit Valley College with a certificate in Diesel Mechanics. He worked for Janicki Industries and other companies for several years as a mechanic. Currently he was working with Diamond B Constructors in Bellingham as a fourth year commercial plumbing apprentice.
He was united in marriage to Laurie Cook in Mount Vernon on August 18, 1989 and they made their home in Sedro-Woolley until moving to Arlington in 2001.
Devan is survived by his wife, Laurie and 2 sons, Riley & Bailey at the family home in Arlington. His parents, Wesley & Ruth Hubbard of Sedro-Woolley. 4 brothers, Lonny, Loren, Kerry & Darryl Hubbard and 2 sisters, Becky Philp and Beth McRae, and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. His mother-in-law, Lois Cook, brother-in-law, Steve Cook and 2 sisters-in-law, Lea & Carey Swartz. His very close personal friends, Jeff & Anna Williams, Jay & Mary Hagel and Jim & Tanya Simpson and many friends from school and work.
The family requests memorials be made to the Hubbard Children Trust c/o any Skagit State Bank or to Christ the King Church, 2111 Riverside Drive, Mount Vernon, WA 98273.
Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, July 11, 2006 at 12:30 PM at the Sedro-Woolley Union Cemetery followed by a Life Celebration at 2:00 PM at Christ the King Church in Mount Vernon with Pastors Rick Snodgrass and Rick Schrank officiating.
Arrangements are under the direction of Lemley Chapel, Sedro-Woolley.
