Eleanor R. Lang, 86, a longtime Sedro-Woolley resident passed away on Saturday, June 17, 2006 at the Mira Vista Care Center in Mount Vernon with her husband of 66 years, Joseph, at her side.
She was born on August 30, 1919 in Sedro-Woolley, the daughter of Roland & Cordelia Trudeau Reynolds and she was raised and attended school in Concrete, graduating from Concrete High School with the class of 1937.
On April 13, 1940 she was united in marriage to Joseph Lang at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Sedro-Woolley and they made their home in Concrete until 1941 when they moved to Seattle. They returned to Concrete in 1946 and Eleanor worked as a secretary for Superior Portland Cement until 1956 when they moved to Mount Vernon, and there she worked as a secretary for NC Machinery until her retirement in 1976. In 1986 she and Joseph moved to Sedro-Woolley where they have made their home for the past 20 years.
She had been a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Mount Vernon from 1956 to 1986 and then at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Sedro-Woolley where she was also active in the Altar Society.
Eleanor loved tending to her flower and vegetable garden and spending time with her family and friends.
She is survived by her husband, Joseph. Her son and daughter-in-law, David & Georgia Lang of Birdsview; Granddaughter, Lisa Renee Mayfield and her husband David of Seattle; her brother, Stuart Reynolds and his wife Helen of Sumner and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and by a brother, LeRoy Reynolds.
Memorials are suggested to the Immaculate Conception Regional School Endowment Fund, 1321 E. Division, Mount Vernon, WA 98273.
The Rosary will be prayed at 10:30 AM followed by the Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Sedro-Woolley on Thursday, June 22, 2006 with Father Robert Hagan, Celebrant. Interment will follow at Sedro-Woolley Union Cemetery. Visitation available at and services under the direction of Lemley Chapel, Sedro-Woolley.
