Frederick M. ‘Dick’ Shoop, age 66, passed away on Saturday, March 29, 2008 at his home in Sedro-Woolley, Washington with his family at his side. He was born on November 16, 1941 in Fairfield, Montana to John and Vola Van Nice Shoop.
Dick served with the U.S. Air Force during the Viet Nam era and later attended college and received his Bachelor of Science Degree from City University.
He was married to Sharon Greenwood on August 12, 1961 in Spokane, WA. Dick resided in Issaquah for many years until moving to Sedro-Woolley in 1999. He worked for the 3-M Corporation as a sales representative from 1972 till his retirement in 2006. Dick enjoyed playing golf, being an avid reader, and was a member of Northern Peaks Christian Fellowship. His family and church family were very important to him.
Dick is survived by his wife Sharon of the family home in Sedro-Woolley. His children; Tamara McDonald and her husband Michael of Arlington, WA, Camela Cole and her husband Michael of Lake Stevens, WA and Jim Heisler and his wife Linda of Portland, OR. 5 grandchildren, Jamie & Tommy Heisler, Tyler & Jennifer McDonald, and Jack Cole. 3 brothers, Warren Shoop of Spokane, WA, Duane Shoop and his wife Karin of Tucson, AZ and Kent Shoop and his wife Cathy of Easton, WA. A sister Elsie Barnes and her husband Lloyd of Lake Stevens, WA. Numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Lonnie.
Memorial Services will be Saturday, April 12, 2008 at 2:00 PM at Northern Peaks Christian Fellowship in Sedro-Woolley with Mr. Jim Heisler officiating. Memorials are suggested to Skagit Hospice. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Edwin Stickle and Skagit Hospice for the care given to Dick. Arrangements and Services under the care of Lemley Chapel, Sedro-Woolley.
