Madge Irene Hyatt, 83, a former Skagit County resident passed away on Wednesday October 5, 2005 in Richmond, Texas.
She was born on November 15, 1921 in Oldham, South Dakota, the daughter of Charles & Eloda Baker Brown.
In 1934 she moved to Anacortes, Washington where she was raised and attended school.
For many years Madge worked as a cook and laundry services assistant at Northern State Hospital in Sedro-Woolley and at the Buckley School for the handicapped in Buckley, WA.
She was united in marriage to William ‘Ed’ Hyatt in Coeur D Alene, Idaho in 1967 and together they made their home in Clear Lake, Enumclaw and Sedro-Woolley until his death in November of 2002. Madge has been a resident of Richmond, Texas for the past year.
She is survived by her son, Charles Deaver of Marquette, Michigan and 2 daughters, Rae Bassett and Eloda Light, both of Richmond, Texas. 1 step-son, Kenneth Hyatt of Mount Vernon and 3 step-daughters, Frances Oxenham of Sedro-Woolley, Lucille Biemer of Mount Vernon and Fay Stewart of Renton, WA. She is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her parents, 2 sisters, Virginia Rauch and Lela Sherman and 2 step-sons, Ray & Dewey Hyatt.
Funeral services will be held at Lemley Chapel on Tuesday, October 11, 2005 at 2:00 pm with Pastor Dan Panter of the McKenzie Road Baptist Church in Olympia officiating. Interment will follow at the Bow Cemetery. Visitation will be available on Monday from 9am to 5pm and on Tuesday from 9am to 1pm. Arrangements are under the direction of Lemley Chapel, Sedro-Woolley.
