Margaret was born on May 15, 1910 in Sedro-Woolley, the daughter of Joseph & Ida Fritsch Doucette. She was raised and attended school in Sedro-Woolley, graduating from SWHS in 1928.
During the Depression, Margaret helped bake bread at home, which she would sell to shops and people in town for 5 cents a loaf. She also grew and sold vegetables from the family garden.
Margaret never got to travel far from Sedro-Woolley, but she did manage to fly in a twin wing crop duster for 15 minutes in 1921 at a fair in Sedro-Woolley. That was one of her most thrilling adventures in all her life.
Margaret worked at Northern State Hospital and JC Penney’s in Sedro-Woolley and in the fields picking fruits and vegetables.
She was active with Meals on Wheels with her brother, Joseph, for many years.
She was also a longtime member of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Sedro-Woolley.
She is survived by a cousin, David DeNeui, Alex Doucette and many Fritsch relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents; 2 brothers, Joseph and John Doucette and a sister, Mary Nicholson.
A Funeral Mass will be held onTuesday, June 10, 2008 at 11:00 A.M. at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Sedro-Woolley with Father Martin Bourke, Celebrant. Interment will follow at the Sedro-Woolley Union Cemetery with a fellowship immediately following at the church Parish hall. Memorials are suggested to Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church.
