Michael ‘Mick’ Johnson

Thursday, March 10th, 2016

Michael Wayne Johnson, “Mick”, passed away on March 7th, 2016, after a long battle with Acute Myeloid Leukemia.  He was 74 years old.  He passed away peacefully at Evergreen Hospital in Kirkland, Washington.

Mike was born on May 4th, 1941 in Forks, Washington.  He grew up in Clear Lake, Washington, where he had many fond memories.  Mike attended Sedro-Woolley High School, where he became ASB president and State Wrestling Champion.  His interest in sports continued with his love of fantasy football.   Mike had a great sense of humor, loved to laugh, and DID NOT like cherries on his milkshakes!  He remained close with childhood friends and loved spending time with them and family.

He is survived by his two children, Brent (Ashlie) Johnson, Angie (Pete) McCausland; his four grandchildren, Maggie, Dexter, Maria, and Mack; his two sisters, Nanci (Jay) Overway and Jan (Duke) Snyder.

Mike is preceded by his parents, Virginia and Clarence, and his brother, Ronnie Johnson.

Mike was loved and will be remembered always.

Graveside Inurnment Services with Military Honors will be held at the Sedro-Woolley Union Cemetery on Friday, April 1, 2016 at 11:00 AM.  A Celebration of Life will follow at Skagit Golf and Country Club at 12:30. In lieu of flowers, please donate to Fred Hutchison Cancer Center.  Share memories of Mick and sign the online guest register at www.lemleychapel.com.

Condolences to Mick’s family and loved ones. Mick was one of our favorite people when we were pledge brothers at the ATO house at UW during the early 60’s. There were many fond memories during that time and Mick contributed to a lot of them. We lost touch several years ago but Leah and I still think of him often. What a great guy!

Milk was a good neighbor for more than 40 years. He was always ready with a smile and friendly comment. We will miss him.

Mick and I met in the 1960s, and stayed in contact ever since. He was a good man, a loving father, a doting grandfather, and a dear friend. He will be sorely missed.

    God bless you, my friend.

I knew Mike from his UNOCAL days. Mike was one of the managers who interviewed me. Later I was assigned to a territory in Oregon and Mike left the company shortly afterwards to become a service station dealer . I was later transferred back up to the Seattle area and got reengage with Mike as a retail rep. I found Mike to be one of our better dealers and a quality person who I enjoyed working with and a class act.
