RALPH C. WILSON, 90, a lifelong Sedro-Woolley resident, passed away at his home on Saturday October 8, 2005.
He was born on March 15, 1915 in Sedro-Woolley, the son of Elmer & Edith Campbell Wilson. Ralph was raised and attended school in Sedro-Woolley, going to school until the age of 12 when he had to go to work to help support his family after the untimely death of his father.
Ralph worked at the Goodyear Nelson Hardwood Lumber mill in Sedro-Woolley from 1927 until 1975, working at a variety of jobs, but mostly as a forklift operator.
Ralph was also an accomplished carpenter and would buy homes, restore them and rent them out. He was still managing several of his houses. He was a 61 year member of the Eagles, Aerie 2069 in Sedro-Woolley and of the Woodworkers Union.
Ralph enjoyed traveling, dancing and family picnics and BBQ’s.
Ralph is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Joanie & Dexter Self and his 2 grandchildren, Eric Self & Violet Self and her companion, Kevin Munion, all of Sedro-Woolley and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and several brothers and sisters.
The family suggest memorials be made to Skagit Hospice, PO Box 1376, Mount Vernon, WA 98273.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 12, 2005 at 2:00pm at Lemley Chapel in Sedro-Woolley with Pastor Leon Meyer of the Calvary Baptist Church in Burlington officiating. Interment will follow at the Sedro-Woolley Union Cemetery. Services under the direction of Lemley Chapel, Sedro-Woolley.
