Robby C. ‘Rob’ Doyle, 52, a resident of Sedro-Woolley, passed away on Tuesday, October 9, 2007 at United General Hospital in Sedro-Woolley following a three year battle with cancer.
Rob was born on January 20, 1955 in Walla Walla, Washington, the son of Ernest & JoAnn Olson Doyle. He was raised and attended school in Port Angeles and areas on the Olympic Peninsula until moving to Lyman in 1970, attending high school in Sedro-Woolley where he played football and graduated from Sedro-Woolley High School with the class of 1973.
Rob then worked in the logging industry for a short time until enlisting in the U.S. Army where he served his country for 2 years. After his discharge he returned to Forks, WA and again worked in the logging industry until an injury forced him to leave the woods. He attended Bellingham Technical School, earning his engineering credentials and in 1981 began working as a civil engineer for the Washington State Department of Transportation. Rob was actively working until one week prior to his death. He was united in marriage to Holly Warnecke in Sedro-Woolley in 1981 and they have made their home in Sedro-Woolley.
Rob enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and riding 4-wheelers with his family.
When his children were younger he was an active supporter of their youth athletics.
Rob is survived by his wife of 26 years, Holly, and his children, Bill, Jenny and Megan all at the family home in Sedro-Woolley. 2 sisters, Vicki Cooper of Birdsview and Deena Mathews Will of Sprague, WA; 3 brothers, Steve Doyle Henrietta of West Newton, PA, David Doyle Sandi of Sedro-Woolley and Keith Doyle Holly of Alberton, PA. His step-mother, Carol Doyle of Seattle; his father & mother-in-law, Robert & Bonnie Warnecke; 2 brothers-in-law, Greg Warnecke Patti if Halstad, MN and Doug Warnecke of Seattle and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Ernest Doyle and his mother and step-father, JoAnn & Alfred ‘Duke’ Messersmith.
Memorials are suggested to North Puget Oncology, 2000 Hospital Drive, Sedro-Woolley, WA 98284.
Memorial Services will be held at Lemley Chapel in Sedro-Woolley on Friday, October 12, 2007 at 3:00 PM with Pastor Randy Blue officiating.
Cremation and arrangements are under the direction of Lemley Chapel, Sedro-Woolley.
