William Allen Nance, age 78, passed away on Thursday, January 31, 2008 at the Burton Care Center in Burlington, Washington. He was born on December 5, 1929 in Parsons, Kansas to Bloomer and Mildred Geisenhoner Nance.
Bill grew up in Parsons, Kansas attending school and later served in the US Air Force in Korea.
He was married to Marjorie Blaker-Booth on October 5, 1952 in Long Beach, CA. He resided in Edmonds, WA from 1962 to 1986 until moving to Burlington residing there for the past 22 years. Bill worked as an auto mechanic for many years until becoming an installer in the synthetic marble business. While living at Samish River Park, Bill was in charge of maintaining the water and well system for the park for many years. Bill was very patriotic for his country, flying our nations colors in his yard. He enjoyed gardening, wood working, traveling to family reunions, but most of all his family was very important to him.
He is survived by his wife, Marjorie Nance of Ferndale, WA. His daughter, Shelley Rowe and her husband, Terry of Ferndale, WA. 2 grandchildren, Vanessa Rowe of Ferndale, WA and Jonathan Rowe of Jacksonville, FL. 3 brothers, Arthur Nance of Parsons, KS, Joe Nance of McCune, KS, and Robert Nance of Galesburg, KS. 2 sisters, Mary Ann Burris of Tulsa, OK and Sara Joplin of Council Bluffs, IA and numerous nieces and nephews.
Bill was preceded in death by his father, W.B. Nance, mother, Mildred Nance, brother, John Nance and a sister, Irene Lupoli.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, February 16, 2008 at 2:00PM at Bill’s daughter’s home at 6760 Shelter Lane in Ferndale. Memorials are suggested to the Skagit County Humane Society 18911 Kelleher Rd Burlington, WA 98233.
