William M. ‘Bill’ Gibson, 64, a resident of the Hamilton community, passed away on Friday, October 12, 2007 at his home surrounded by his loving family.
Bill was born on September 15, 1943 in Anacortes, WA, the son of Robert & Faye Sparks Augir.
He was raised and attended grade school in Hamilton and attended Sedro-Woolley High School where he played football.
Bill was united in marriage to Janice Graham in 1984 and they have made their home in Hamilton for the past 17 years.
Bill worked as a logger in the timber industry for several years and then as a firefighter for the U.S. Forest Service. He then worked as a mechanic and a diesel mechanic in Alaska and for Concrete Nor’West until his retirement in 2003.
Bill enjoyed hunting and fishing and especially his annual hunting trips with his son, Jerry.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Robert & Faye Augir.
He is survived by his loving wife, Janice at the family home in Hamilton. His son and daughter-in-law, Jerry & Kim Moser and his daughter and son-in-law, LeathAnn & Jonathan Johnson. 4 grandchildren, Samantha, Alen, Tanner & Kaylee. 3 brothers, Gary Rosie, George Anna and Robert Sandy and several nieces and nephews.
Bill was very loved and will be greatly missed.
His family suggests that memorials be made to Skagit Hospice, PO Box 1376, Mount Vernon, WA 98273.
A gathering to Celebrate Bill’s Life will be held at the family home in Hamilton on Saturday, October 20, 2007 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Lemley Chapel, Sedro-Woolley.
