Mary Helen Barr, age 87, passed away Tuesday, August 18, 2009 at the Life Care Center of Skagit Valley in Sedro-Woolley, Washington.

She was born March 3, 1922 in Port Angeles, Washington to Thomas and Margaret Drager Barrett.
Mary was a resident of Sedro-Woolley for over 80 years and she worked as a cook for the Sedro-Woolley School District. She enjoyed bowling, gardening, traveling and going on trips with friends, and playing the slots in Reno.

Mary is survived by her son, Jim Barr of Sedro-Woolley. A brother, Clarence Barrett of Sedro-Woolley and a sister, Laura Henry of Windsor, CA. Numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, Suzanne Franklin, her husband Clarence Barr, and 3 brothers, Fred, Francis, and Harold Barrett.

The family would like to extend special thanks to Dr. Stephen Aldridge and the staff of Life Care Center of Skagit Valley for the care given to Mary.

A Graveside Inurnment Service will be held Tuesday, August 25, 2009 at 11:00 AM at the Sedro-Woolley Union Cemetery with Father Martin Bourke of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church officiating with a reception to follow the service at Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish Hall.

Memorials are suggested to North Puget Cancer Center at United General Hospital. Arrangements & Services under the care of Lemley Chapel, Sedro-Woolley.
