Agnes M. ‘Aggie’ Loraas, a Mount Vernon resident, passed away at the Life Care Center in Mount Vernon, WA on Tuesday April 2, 2002 at the age of 83 years. She was born July 10, 1918 in Brainerd, Minnesota the daughter of Arthur and Mary Jaeger Foltz.
Aggie married Harry Yeager in 1941and he preceded her in death in 1955. She then married Robert Loraas in Coer D’Alene, Idaho on August 31, 1957 and they made their home in Seattle where they operated an auto upholstery shop. In 1967, they moved to Sedro-Woolley where she and her husband owned and operated Bob & Aggie’s Second Hand Store until their retirement in 1981. Together they spent their retirement years living on their farm on the Samish River.
She was preceded in death by her parents, an infant daughter Mary, and a sister, Virginia O’Byrne.
She is survived by her husband of forty five years, Robert Loraas of Mount Vernon. A brother, Art Foltz of Ballard, WA and 3 sisters, Ellen Webb of Everett, Jane Carnahan of Tieton, WA and Donna Gagnon of Seattle and numerous nieces and nephews. There will be no funeral services. The family suggests memorials to the charity of your choice.
