Ann Vanderwal

Tuesday, August 23rd, 2022

Antje “Anneka”/Ann “Anna” Vanderwal was born in the Netherlands on April 24, 1945, to Berend and Maria Andringa.

She and her family immigrated to California in 1953.

She met Abraham Vanderwal at church, they married in 1965, and they moved to Washington state.

While Abe was a bricklayer, she worked in housecleaning for 30 years for wonderful clients.

Ann enjoyed sewing, gardening, baking…cooking, not so much.

She is survived by her children: Maria de Haan (Ken), John Vanderwal (Bethany), Lisa Gardner (Tyler), Brenda Vanderwal, and Marc Vanderwal (Tiffany Wayland); her 14 grandchildren;  4 great-grandchildren, (with 3 more on the way); her siblings, Sid Andringa (Alice), Jim Andringa (Dorothy), Andy Andringa (Grace), Pete Andringa (Irene), Paul Andringa (Ann), and Geri Eldridge (Bob).

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; infant daughter, Lenora.

She was a charter member of the United Reformed Church of Burlington.

Ann had a deep, but quiet and unassuming faith.

She died peacefully at her home on August 23, 2022 from complications of celiac and is now resting peacefully in the arms of Jesus.

Graveside Services will be held at Union Cemetery, 1450 Wicker Road, in Sedro-Woolley at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 27. This service is open to the public. A Celebration of Life will follow at Burlington United Reformed Church.

Please share your memories of Ann and sign the online guest register.
