Jerry S. Galbreath

Wednesday, September 1st, 2010

Jerry S. Galbreath, 60, a resident of Bow, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Wednesday, September 1, 2010.

He was born on October 5, 1949 in Mount Vernon, the son of Arvid & Betty (Walden) Galbreath.

He grew up in the Bow area and graduated from Burlington Edison High School with the class of 1970.  He then served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam conflict.

Jerry liked keeping in touch with his classmates, writing or phoning them just to say hi.  He also loved meeting people from all walks of life.

He was an inventor and had invented the magnet glove, only to loose the patent to the Illinois Glove Co.

Jerry worked in construction for many years and at Boeing until an injury forced his retirement.

He also loved the outdoors, tending to his garden, going fishing and panning for gold.  He and his mother would often just sit outside at night watching the stars, satellites and airplanes overhead while visiting and listening to country music. He also liked going to the Angel of the Winds Casino to listen to the music.

Jerry is survived by his mother, Betty Galbreath of Bow. His brother, Thomas Galbreath and his wife Debbie of Burlington. A niece and her husband, Sarah & Mark Sehome and their daughter Courtney and many cousins, aunts and uncles.

He was preceded in death by his father, Arvid.

Funeral Services will he held on Wednesday, September 8, 2010 at 2:00 PM at Lemley Chapel in Sedro-Woolley.  Interment will follow at the Bayview Cemetery.
