Roger LeRoy “Corky” Cork, 83, a resident of Sedro-Woolley, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 10, 2012 at Providence Medical Center in Everett, Washington with his family by his side.
Roger was born on May 5, 1929 in Princeton, Illinois, the son of Claude & Orpha (Wells) Cork. He was raised and attended school in Princeton, Illinois.
On January 5, 1951 he was united in marriage to Jessie Pauline Boers in Illinois. In August 30, 1951 in enlisted into the U.S. Army, serving his country during the Korean Conflict. After his discharge they moved to Ferndale, Washington where Roger worked for Harlin Hovander for over 15 years. In 1969 they then moved to Burlington, Washington where he continued to work as a dairy farmer for Danny Miller, tending to over 1,000 cows for over 30 years.
Roger was a member of the American Legion Post 43 in Sedro-Woolley. With what little spare time he had, Roger enjoyed bowling, horseshoes and shuffleboard.
He is survived by his wife of over 60 years, Pauline; Daughters, Dottie Chandler (Paul) of Burlington, Juanita Cork of Sedro-Woolley and Vickie Weeks of Snohomish; Sons, Willie Cork of Sedro-Woolley and Ron Cork (Lora) of Burlington: 10 grandchildren, Tonia Smiley (Bill), Alicia Thompson (Ian), Frank Stephan (Angie), Mindy Palmer (Travis), Ryan & Zack Cork, Arielle Weeks, Madison & Ashleigh Cork and Kyle Flamang; 7 great-grandchildren, Isabelle & Conner Smiley, Leanna Lupardus, Desirae Cork, Symanthia Orr, TJ Palmer and Hope & Zina Carpenter. His brothers, Don Cork (Nancy) of Princeton, Illinois and DeWayne Cork (Maxine) of White Plains, Missouri; sisters, Glenna Morse (Eugene) of Princeton, Illinois and Alice Depauw of Funiak Springs, Florida and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister Viola Cavin; his in-laws, Frank & Opal Boers and brother-in-law, Paul Depauw.
A Life Celebration will be held at the home of Ron Cork, 20392 Aliston Lane in Burlington on Saturday, October 20, 2012 at 1:00 PM. Memorials are suggested to a charity of your choice in memory of Roger. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Lemley Chapel, Sedro-Woolley.

    Dottie, Pauline, Ron, Willie and family, We are so sorry to learn of the loss of Roger after his long illness. Roger and his family were known to us for many years, always enjoyable and active. One time, Roger told Jim that he was going to slow down a little bit, he was only going to work six days a week for Danny Miller!
