Arnold Edward Soderberg, age 84, a resident of Sedro-Woolley, passed away on Friday, May 9, 2014, at his home surrounded by his family.
He was born on May 25, 1929, in Seattle, WA, the son of Arvid and Ethel (Hanson) Soderberg. He grew up in Ferndale, where he farmed with his father. He also worked as a logger for 9 years, and then worked as a millwright for Sedro-Woolley Lumber for 30 years, retiring in 1991, after which he then returned to farming on Minkler Road in Sedro-Woolley.
Arnold was united in marriage to Darlene Bryant on October 4, 1957 and they made their home in Sedro-Woolley.
He was a long-time member of the Eagles; he loved to fish and hunt, and his grandchildren were the apple of his eye.
Arnold is survived by his son, Rick; 2 granddaughters, Shelly and Melissa; 6 grandsons, David, Danny, Ronnie, Randy, Billy, and Clint; 2 great-granddaughters, Savahnna and Elizabeth; his brother, Howard; sister-in-law, Joyce; and his constant companion, his dog, Bear.
Arnold was preceded in death by his wife, Darlene and sons, Randall and Ronald.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, June 2, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. at Lemley Chapel in Sedro-Woolley followed by inurnment at the Greenhills Cemetery in Burlington. A potluck gathering will follow at the Riverfront Park in Sedro-Woolley.
