Andrew E. ‘Drew’ Mauden, age 38, passed away Tuesday, January 6, 2009 at the Kadlec Hospital in Richland, Washington as the result of a truck accident. He was born January 17, 1970 in Seattle, Washington to Nowell and Marli Kress Mauden.
Drew grew up in the Kirkland area and attended Lake Washington High School. He resided in Kirkland for most of his life besides residing in Alaska, Hawaii, Arizona, and California. His work experience included doing a lot of things over the years such as sales, restaurant management, insurances sales, and for the past year he had been a long haul truck driver.
Drew enjoyed music and attending concerts and he was a huge sports fan. He loved Bugs Bunny and roller coasters, the more wild the better. Drew loved to watch his son’s quarter midget and mini cup races and he was a huge fan of Star Wars and Lord of the Rings movies.
Drew is survived by his son, Zachary Mauden of Kirkland. His mother and step-father, Marli and Doug Holden of Lake Stevens. A brother, Michael Mauden and his wife Michele of Boise, ID and a sister, Kimberly Storms and her husband Robert of Arlington, TX. His maternal grandmother, Marguerite Kress of Redmond and his cousin Jeremy Mauden his life long friend. Numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Nowell Mauden, paternal grandparents, Waldemar and Margaret Mauden and his maternal grandfather, Edgar Kress.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held, Monday, January 12, 2009 at 11:00 AM at Lemley Chapel, Sedro-Woolley with interment to follow at the Burlington Cemetery. Memorials or donations on behalf of Drew’s memory for a trust fund for Drew’s son Zachary can be made to any branch of US Bank.
