ANNA MARIE MILLS, 77, a longtime Skagit County resident passed away on Friday August 5, 2005 at St. Joseph Hospital in Bellingham following a brief illness.
She was born on May 11, 1928 in Endicott, New York, the daughter of Frank & Stella Whitman Tiffany.
She was united in marriage to Charles Mills on September 2, 1949 in Maine, N.Y. and they made their home in New York where they raised their eight children. In 1969 they moved their family to the Skagit Valley where Anna has resided for the past 36 years.
Though Anna was a quiet, humble woman, she had an inward strength of integrity and faith that many depended upon. She dedicated her life to her God, Jehovah on July 17, 1971 and she served Him faithfully from then until her death.
Anna was always there for her family. She had a special love for children and helped raise many besides her own.
She is survived by her children, James Mills and his wife, Lois of Dayton, WA, Charles Mills and his wife, Jennifer of Marysville, Lynn Mills and his wife, Peggy of Concrete, Caven Mills and his companion, Maxine of Sedro-Woolley, Marqueta Galassi and her husband, Terry and Loretta Johnson and her husband, Rod of Alger, Mark Mills and his companion Susy of Lynnwood and Joy Johnson and her husband, Randy of Stanwood. 21 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren, 4 nieces and 1 nephew.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Charles in 1997 and by her brother, Raymond Tiffany.
Anna’s family suggests memorials be made to the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society of New York, 25 Columbia Heights, Brooklyn, NY 11201-2483 in support of Bible education work.
A Memorial Service for Anna will be held on Saturday, August 13, 2005 at 2:00 pm at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Burlington.
Visitation is available thru Saturday August 13th followed by cremation. Arrangements under the direction of Lemley Chapel, Sedro-Woolley. Inurnment will be at Sedro-Woolley Union Cemetery.
