Anna Marie Shannon passed away Wednesday, January 14, 2004 at the Life Care Center of Skagit Valley in Sedro-Woolley, WA at the age of 96 years. She was born October 16, 1907 in Washington Island, Wisconsin the daughter of Alexander and Hulda Selberg Esperson. Anna came to Sedro-Woolley in 1929 from Wisconsin and in 1930 was married to David Smith until his death in 1935. In 1955, she was married to Fred Shannon and he preceded her in death in 1966. From 1976 until 1995, she resided in Auburn until returning to Sedro-Woolley. Anna worked as a housekeeper and attended the Assembly of God Church as well as she enjoyed writing poetry and was an artist. She is survived by her 3 granddaughters Robin Schular and Becky Fitzpatrick both of Auburn, WA and Ronnie of CA, 3 brothers John Esperson of WI, Art Esperson of Seattle, WA, Sam Esperson of Arlington and a nephew Martin Smith of Concrete. She was preceded in death by her daughter Esther, 2 sisters Helga and Hanna, and 2 brothers Carl & Jens Esperson.
Memorial Services will be at Bethel Assembly of God Church in Sedro-Woolley on Sunday, January 18, 2004 at 6:00 PM. Interment was at the Sedro-Woolley Union Cemetery.
