Bernard R. Johnson died peacefully in Sedro-Woolley, Washington, where he has lived for the last five years on Sunday, May 25, 2003. He was born October 11, 1918 in Seattle, Washington, the son of Bernie R. and Marietta Ball Johnson. Bernie was a wonderful husband, father, friend, and neighbor.
Bernie leaves his cherished wife Brooke of the family home in Sedro-Woolley. His sons Jim and his wife Mary Johnson of Twisp, Mike and his wife Sue Johnson of Carlton, WA, Bill and his wife Ginny Johnson of Seattle, Cliff Henderson of Bellingham, and Doug Henderson and his wife Renee Beluche of Sammamish. His grandchildren Ken, Tom, Lee, Mike, Lori, and Lindsey and great grandsons Devon, Zachary, Gregory, and Bradley and his large extended family of relatives and friends who will remember him with love. He was preceded in death by his parents Bernie and Marietta. He grew up and lived in West Seattle. After 43 years working for the Milwaukee Railroad as a general yard master, he retired and lived in the Burien area. Bernie enjoyed fishing and hunting with his sons and grandchildren. He loved gardening and enjoyed sharing his harvest with those who were close to him. He was known for his great generosity, his warm heart and his friendly nature to those who were lucky enough to know him.
At his request there will be no services. Memorials would be appreciated to either the Multiple Sclerosis Society or S.P.O.T. of Skagit Valley Saving Pets One At A Time.
