BERNICE E. TAXDAHL MADISON, 85, a resident of Sedro-Woolley, Washington, passed away on Wednesday, November 17, 2004.
She was born on November 24, 1918 in Cooperstown, North Dakota, the daughter of Charles & Hattie Clark Feske, Sr.
Bernice had made her home in Cooperstown until 1968 when she moved to Seattle to be closer to her family. She worked at the Boeing Co. for a short while and it was there she met Bob Madison, and they were united in marriage in 1971.
Bernice worked at the Norse Home Retirement Community in Seattle and retired after 25 years of dedicated and hard work. In December of 1990 Bob and Bernice moved to Sedro-Woolley. For the past three years they made their home together at the Country Meadows Retirement Community until Bob’s death in August of 2004. The family would like to thank the staff for their kindness, care and loving support.
Bernice was known for her generosity, smile and kind and loving heart. She loved her family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and she will be dearly missed.
Bernice is survived by her 2 sons, Roy & Carol Taxdahl and Roger Taxdahl and his companion, Judy Bendtson, all of Sedro-Woolley. 7 grandchildren; Kevin, Keith, Linda, Tony, Allen and Steven Taxdahl and Tina Hafferkamp, and 9 great-grandchildren. A brother, Charles Feske, Jr. of Page, ND, a sister, Leone Dewanz and her husband, Melvin of New Ulm, MN, and a daughter-in-law, Marion Puckett and her husband, Dean. Besides her husband, Robert, Bernice was also preceded in death by her son, Ronald Taxdahl, her first husband, Art Taxdahl and a granddaughter, Destiny Taxdahl.
Funeral services will be held at Lemley Chapel in Sedro-Woolley on Monday, November 22, 2004 at 2:00 PM with Pastor Larry Olson of the Edison Lutheran Church officiating. Interment will follow at the Sedro-Woolley Union Cemetery.
