BETTY BRYN-HOUCK, 89, a longtime resident of Sedro-Woolley passed away on Friday, December 13, 2002 at the Life Care Center in Sedro-Woolley. She was born on November 12, 1913 in Shiloh, New Jersey, the daughter of Joseph L. and Nellie Harris Johnson. She was raised and attended school in New Jersey until moving with her family to New York at the age of 16. Betty lived in New York until the onset of World War II working in the war effort testing parts for war planes. In 1952 she came to the Skagit Valley where she has since been a resident. She worked for various major grocery stores as a checker for many years and retired in 1958. She is survived by her son, Everett Moore in South Carolina, a granddaughter, Christine L. Sutton of Burlington, WA, a great-grandson, Jeremy D. Sutton of Hamilton and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Edward Bryn and Edward Houck. Her son, Karl Edward Bryn and her daughter Karen Bryn. At her request there will be no services. Cremation and arrangements under the direction of Lemley Chapel, Sedro-Woolley.
