Betty Mae Hacker also known as ‘Nana’, a longtime resident of Skagit Valley passed away at her home with her family at her side near Big Rock on Wednesday, October 15, 2003 at the age of 72 years. She was born May 12, 1931 in St. Paul, Minnesota the daughter of Elmer and Vera Lundquist Den Adel. Betty was married to Doyle F. Hacker on July 25, 1950 in Everson, WA and they resided in the Nookachamps area for many years until moving to their home near Big Rock 38 years ago. Doyle preceded her in death on December 28, 1990. Nana enjoyed children and especially her grandchildren, Christian music, going to church, and visiting with her friends. She is survived by her sons Donald and his wife Susan Hacker of Hamilton, Gary and his wife Margie Hacker of Raymond, Bobby and his wife Sharon Hacker of Little Rock, AR and a daughter Kathy and her husband Jon Kuebler of Mount Vernon. 14 grandchildren Heidi, Denise, Marty, Jody, Charity, Joshua, Donny Jr, Shawn, Jessieca, Christena, Issac, Jennifer, Joseph, Stacey and numerous great grandchildren. Her brothers Harry, Ronnie, and Melvin Den Adel and sisters Mary Ann Brooks, Margaret and her husband Timothy Teal, Shirley and her husband Louie, and Leona and her husband David Wind. Numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorial Services will be Thursday, October 23, 2003 at 1:00 PM at the Christian Life Center 2727 E. College Way Mount Vernon with Pastor George Watkins officiating. Memorials are suggested to Skagit Hospice. The family would like to extend their appreciation to Life Care Centers of Skagit Valley and Mount Vernon, Dr Edwin Stickle and Staff, Skagit Hospice, and to all her close family and friends for all their care and concern.
