BRUCE VERNON MUNRO, a resident of Sedro-Woolley, passed away on March 19, 2004 at United General Hospital at the age of 83 years.
He was born on December 8, 1920 near Mount Vernon, WA at his home at Big Rock, the fourth of six children born to Edward & Leatha Moore Munro.
Bruce graduated from Sedro-Woolley High School in 1939. In November of 1939 he joined the National Guard and was mobilized into the U.S. Army in 1940. He spent his Army tour at Fort Seward, Alaska and was honorably discharged in 1945.
In 1946 he began his career in brick and stone masonry. Bruce was well known throughout the area for his artistic talent. Though he had officially retired, he continued laying brick until he was 80 years young. He was united in marriage to Patricia Weller in Bellingham in 1968.
He was an avid sportsman and bowling, basketball, baseball, boxing and roller skating were among his favorites.
Bruce was baptized into the Seventh Day Adventist Church in 1971, where he remained active until his death.
He is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Patricia, at the family home in Sedro-Woolley. His children, Bruce Munro, Jr. and wife Karen of Snohomish, WA, Susie Sewell and husband Wayne of Aliso Viejo, CA, Marla Heath and husband Bill of Bellingham, WA, Deanna Rabieh of West Columbia, SC, Janet Anderson and husband Layne of Everson, WA, Marc Medeiros and wife Mickey of Wildomar, CA, Julie Dawson and husband Kevin of Mount Vernon, WA, Mike Beldin of Anacortes, WA, Jim Beldin of Germantown, TN and Dan Beldin of Sedro-Woolley, WA. 25 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. 3 sisters, Atlantis Hickey of Riverside, CA, Erma Flaiban of El Cajon, CA and Kathleen Erickson of Stayton, OR and 13 nieces and nephews.

Memorial Services will be held on Tuesday March 23, 2004 at 3:00 PM at the North Cascade Seventh Day Adventist Church, 800 Peacock Lane, Burlington, WA.
