Burton ‘Lenny’ Lenell Johnson passed away Monday, February 17, 2003 at the Veterans Hospital in Seattle, WA at the age of 55 years. He was born October 1, 1947 in Prince Frederick, Maryland the son of Cecil ‘Tex’ and Frances Curry Johnson. Lenny grew up in Solomons, Maryland and attended schools in Calvert County. As a kid, he was a member of the Boy Scouts of which his Dad was the Scout Master of his Troop. He then went on to join the Navy in 1964 serving in Viet Nam until 1968. In 1969, he married Donna L. Cox in Solomons, MD. In 1970, their only daughter Jessica was born. Lenny worked as a power plant operator for Montana Power and Baltimore Gas & Electric. In Montana, is where Lenny, Donna, and Jessica spent their summers camping and hiking. In 1985, Lenny moved to Skagit County where he worked as a music promoter, promoting music shows for different establishments in western Washington. Besides his love for music and his preference for ‘Blues’, he had a passion for motorcycles, and he was known as a people person. Lenny is survived by his daughter and son in law Jessica and Tony Osborn and their children April and Dane Osborn and a step granddaughter Kristi Kroll. His ex wife Donna Johnson of St. Leonard, MD and mother Marie Johnson of Bow, WA. 2 sisters Debbie and her husband Steve Aldrich and Harriett Stargel all of Bow, WA. A brother Joe Johnson of Seattle, WA. 3 nieces Courtney and Chantrell Aldrich and Elizabeth Johnson and a nephew Isaac Stargel. Many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his father Cecil ‘Tex’ Johnson and grandmothers Harriett ‘Hattie’ Curry and Anna Franklin Johnson.
A Memorial Gathering will be held at his sister Debbie’s house 1451-B Bradley Rd Bow, WA on Monday February 24, 2003 at 6:30PM. A music gathering will be held at a later date.
