Carol Jean Vlcko passed away Sunday, October 19, 2003 at United General Hospital in Sedro-Woolley, WA at the age of 63 years. She was born December 8, 1939 in Cleveland, Oklahoma the daughter of Jesse N. and Gertrude C. Anderson Close. Carol grew up in Clear Lake attending school and graduated from Sedro-Woolley High School with the class of 1958. She was married to Gary Vlcko on April 15, 1961 in Alderwood Manor. For many years she worked as a CNA at Skagit Valley Convalescent Center and later worked at Country Meadows. Carol enjoyed reading, crotching, collecting knickknacks, but most of all she enjoyed her grandchildren. She is survived by her husband Gary Vlcko of the family home in Sedro-Woolley. A daughter Jodie Ramsey and her husband Tyler of Burlington and their children Nick and Allison Ramsey. 2 brothers Kerry J. Close and his wife Barbara of Spokane and Jesse N. Close Jr and his wife Gloria of Mount Vernon and a sister Jane Cimoch and her husband Charlie of Clear Lake. Nieces and Nephews Carol Rector, Jim, Dan, and Robert Cimoch, Charlie and Harlen Close, and Melissa and Allan Close. A brother in law and his wife Steven and Becky Vlcko of Cedar Rapids, IA and 4 sisters in law and their husbands Elizabeth and Jack Selk of Cedar Rapids, IA, Janice and Ron Thompson of Twisp, WA, Judy Amsler of Cedar Rapids, IA, and Marianne and Lee Baird of Phoenix, AZ and numerous nieces and nephews.
Private Graveside Inurnment Services will be held at a later date at the Sedro-Woolley Union Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the American Diabetes Association or your favorite charity.
