Celeste W. Snelson, age 89, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 6, 2009 at the Life Care Center of Skagit Valley in Sedro-Woolley, WA. She was born April 10, 1919 in Snohomish, WA to Roy and Eva Hussey.
Celeste grew up in Snohomish and at the age of sixteen she moved to Seattle to live with a favorite aunt and graduated from high school.
She later moved to California and worked as a runway model and after WWII, she moved to Japan for two years. She was very fond of Japan and the wonderful friends she made while living there.
She moved back to Burlington and worked for Max Steakhouse where she met Frank Snelson and they were married on August 20, 1959 in Lewiston, Idaho and they then resided in Sedro-Woolley.
Celeste is survived by a son, brother, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Frank in February of 2001. The family would like to extend a special thank you to her cousin and caregiver Sharon McLennan for the special care given to Celeste.
Graveside Services will be held Thursday, February 12, 2009 at 2:00 PM at the Sedro-Woolley Union Cemetery with Rosie Robles of the Federation of Christian Ministries officiating. Arrangements and Services under the care of Lemley Chapel, Sedro-Woolley.
