CHARLOTTE ‘PAT’ JUNGBLOM-GILMORE, 90, a lifelong Skagit County resident passed away on Friday, February 10, 2006 at the Life Care Center of Skagit Valley in Sedro-Woolley.
She was born in Sedro-Woolley on April 9, 1915, the daughter of Mathew & Elizabeth Bowes Candler. She was raised and attended school in Sedro-Woolley.
In 1931 she was united in marriage to Carl T. ‘Jimmy’ Jungblom in Mount Vernon and they made their home in Concrete. In 1944 they moved to Birdsview when they purchased the Grandy Creek Grocery and service station, which they operated together for 20 years. In 1964 they moved to Sedro-Woolley.
Jimmy preceded her in death in 1979 and in 1980 she married Walt F. Gilmore in Mount Vernon and for the past 25 years they have made their summer home in Sedro-Woolley, spending the winter months in Arizona.
Pat was a member of the Birdsview Grange, Eastern Star and Daughters of the Nile. She enjoyed growing flowers in her garden, knitting, crocheting and needle and craft work.
She is survived by her husband, Walt at the family home in Sedro-Woolley. A step-daughter, Kathie Payne Jennifer & Adam of Bend, OR; a step-son, Gary Gilmore Brant & Gary, Jr. in Arkansas; 1 sister, Nellie Zonneveld of Sacramento, CA; 1 brother, Fred Candler Dillon of Sedro-Woolley; 4 nephews, John Margaret & Bill Zonneveld of Sacramento, Denny Candler Carol of Arizona & George Candler Virginia of Sedro-Woolley; 3 nieces, Cheryl Candler of Indiana, Judy Wilson Daryl of Calif. and Janet Ruhl Steve of Sedro-Woolley. Besides her husband Jimmy, she was also preceded in death by 3 brothers, William, Charles and G. Tom Candler and a sister, Mary Sherrif.
Memorials are suggested to North Puget Oncology, c/o United General Hospital.
Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, February 15, 2006 at 2:00 PM at the Sedro-Woolley Union Cemetery with Pastor Wendy Tingley of Trinity United Presbyterian Church officiating. Services are under the direction of Lemley Chapel, Sedro-Woolley.
