Claudia Lola Madlung

Friday, February 17th, 2006

Claudia Lola Madlung, 89, a longtime Sedro-Woolley resident, passed away on Friday, February 17, 2006 at the Life Care Center of Skagit Valley in Sedro-Woolley, WA.
She was born May 5, 1916 in Beulah, North Dakota, the daughter of Fred and Prudence Pettis Stewart.
Claudia came to Mount Vernon, WA from North Dakota as a child and attended school and graduated from Mount Vernon High School. She served the public as an endeared waitress for many years. Through mutual friends, she met Jack Madlung, her husband of 39 years. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, and ministry work with Jehovah’s Witnesses. Claudia’s faith in God’s promise ‘The hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out, those who did good things to a resurrection of life” John 5: 28, 29 was stronger than anything and so we too hold on to them until she returns to us.
Claudia is survived by her children, Earl L. Ponton, known as ‘Boots’, Prudy Anne Hodgin, Donna R. Fry and Billie Joe Vermillion. 9 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, 7 great-great-grandchildren, a brother Fred Stewart, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, February 25, 2006 at 1:30 PM at the Sedro-Woolley Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 410 Ball St. Sedro-Woolley.
