Dale E. Kayala, age 60, passed away Monday, January 15, 2007 at Life Care Center of Skagit Valley in Sedro-Woolley, WA. He was born February 22, 1946 in Bemidji, MN, the son of John and Maxine Sefert Kayala.
Dale grew up in Minnesota attending school and enlisted in the US Marine Corps at age 17 serving three tours of duty in Viet Nam. Upon his discharge, he settled in Washington and has been a resident of Sedro-Woolley for over 20 years. He worked as an auto mechanic for LOW Auto Sales for 26 years. Dale loved to hunt, fish, and play darts. Dale was a member of the VFW Post #933, George Baldridge Post #43 American Legion and the Wildcat Steelhead Club.
Dale is survived by his mother, Maxine Wangen and her husband Harold of Albert Lea, MN. 2 uncles, Irvin Bushinger of Wakefield, RI and Dale Sefert of Elgin, IL and 2 cousins, Mary Hansen and Gloria Crabtree of Arlington, WA. Numerous cousins in Georgia, Florida, Colorado, Texas, and Minnesota and many close friends in the Skagit Valley. He was preceded in death by his biological father, his adopted parents, and grandparents.
Visitation will be Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday of next week from 9AM to 5PM at Lemley Chapel, Sedro-Woolley.
A Potluck Memorial Service will be held Saturday, January 27, 2007 at 11:00AM at George Baldridge Post #43 American Legion Hall with members of the US Marine Corps League providing military honors with a reception to follow the services. Memorials are suggested to Skagit Valley Hospital Kidney Center in Mount Vernon. A special thank you is extended to Karen and the staff at the Skagit Valley Hospital Kidney Center for their exceptional care of Dale.
