DARLENE ELIZABETH RIGGS, 72, a resident of Concrete passed away on Wednesday, August 24, 2005 at the Life Care of Skagit Valley in Sedro-Woolley.
She was born on September 23, 1932 in Kansa City, Missouri, the daughter of Andrew S. and Exie N. Shannon Bontrager. She was rasied in Hawthorne, CA where she attended school. She moved to San Francisco in 1952, later returning to Hawthorne, CA. She also lived in No. Carolina for 5 years, again returning to Hawthorne, CA.
She was a Supervisor in quality control for several computer manufacturers including TWR. She worked for Sinch Graphic Printed Circuits for 19 years.
Darlene has been a Concrete resident since 1989.
Darlene was an active member of the Jehovah’s Witnesses Ministry.
She is survived by her 3 daughters, Kathy Prescott of Concrete, Linda Lee Chapman and her husband, Ron of Bend, Oregon and Jeri Lynn Benedict of Duvall, WA. 2 sons, Stephen Riggs of Newport Beach, California and Gill Riggs of Bellflower, CA and 1 sister, Patsy May Regolien of Truth or Consequences, New Mexico.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Gary Bontrager.
Memorial Services were held on Friday August 26, 2005 at the Jehovah’s Witnesses Kingdom Hall in Concrete with graveside committal services at Forest Park Cemetery.
Services and arrangements are under the direction of Lemley Chapel, Sedro-Woolley.
