DELMA NELLES, 60, a longtime resident of the Punkin Center community near Hamilton, WA passed away unexpectedly in Las Vegas, NV on Monday February 16, 2004.
She was born June 27, 1943 in Sedro-Woolley, WA, the daughter of Ray & Dorothy Williams Jarmin. She was raised and attended school in Rockport and Concrete, graduating from Concrete High School in 1961.
On October 28, 1961 she was united in marriage to Richard Nelles at the Community Bible Church in Concrete, and they made their home there until 1972 when they moved down river to Punkin Center near Hamilton.
Delma was an avid gardener, growing a variety of flowers in her greenhouse. She also enjoyed horseback riding, animals of all kinds and going bowling. She attended the Community Bible Church in Concrete.
She was a member of the Punkin Center Volunteer Fireman’s Ladies Aux.
Delma is survived by her husband, Richard, at the family home in Punkin Center. Her daughter and son-in-law, Belinda and Paul Rogge of Concrete. Her mother and step-father, Dorothy & Jim Campbell of Rockport. 3 brothers, Ray Jarmin and wife Janice of Rockport, Verl Jarmin of Punkin Center and his, and Delma’s close friend, Marge Van Beek of Birch Bay, and Dale Smith and wife Ruth of Big River, CA. Her mother-in-law, Adrienne Nelles of Concrete; a brother-in-law, Roger Nelles and his wife Patricia of Wasilla, AK, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Ray Jarmin; father-in-law, Grant Nelles, and sister-in-law, Lou Jarmin.
Memorials are suggested to the Community Bible Church in Concrete or the American Diabetes Association.
A Life Celebration will be held on Monday February 23, 2004 at 11:00 AM at the Community Bible Church in Concrete with Pastor Rob Thomas officiating. A fellowship luncheon will follow services. Delma will lie in state for visitation at Lemley Chapel in Sedro-Woolley on Friday & Saturday from 9 AM to 5 PM, Sunday by appointment, and on Monday from 9 AM to 3 PM.
