Dolen Lee Ferguson, our loving dad, grandpa, brother, uncle and friend, passed away at his home in Concrete on Monday, February 6, 2006 at the age of 73 years. He was a recent resident of Concrete and a longtime resident of Ferndale.
He was born on November 12, 1932 in Umpire, Arkansas, the son of Bert and Laura O’Neil Ferguson.
Dolen left his home in Arkansas as a teenager, traveling to many cities. He settled in Cheyenne, WY for 9 years and then moved on to making his way to Whatcom County in 1986. He has resided in Concrete for the last 6 months.
Most of his working career was spent in the construction trade. He was an accomplished guitarist, carrying his guitar wherever he went and he was known as a great story teller. One of his greatest hobbies was anything to do with cars and he was a skilled auto repairman. You would be safe after he worked on your car. He was a sports enthusiasts, always watching the Seattle Seahawks and Mariners and the New York Yankees.
His most favorite moments were watching his sons growing up and excelling in their various activities, and the most important being their education He was a longtime member of the Loyal Order of the Moose in Bellingham.
He is survived by his 3 sons; Dolen Ray Ferguson and his fianc
