Dorothy Harriet Eriksen, 89, passed away peacefully in her home in Lyman, Washington on December 18, 2023. Born to Harry and Rose Thompson on December 31, 1933 in Joyce, Washington, she was one of eight siblings, including Clifford, Cora, Mary, Lueria, Thelma, Harry, and Betty.

Harriet married George Eriksen on August 7, 1956, and together, they had eight children. She had a diverse career, including studies at Palmer College of Chiropractic, but more importantly Harriet was dedicated to her family.

She is fondly remembered for her enormous heart, strong will, and wonderful sense of humor. She was not only generous and loyal but also loved offering advice, leaving an indelible impact on those around her. Her passion for crocheting led her to donate most of her projects to those in need. Despite facing life’s challenges, Harriet demonstrated remarkable resilience and strength, navigating difficulties with determination and tenacity that many admired. As a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, her legacy endures through the love and memories shared by those fortunate enough to have known her well.

Harriet is preceded in death by her husband, George; sons, Patrick, Ronald, Greg; granddaughter, Sarah.

She is survived by her children, George A. Eriksen, Lucinda Baumgardner (David), Steven Eriksen, Shannon Eriksen, Kimberly Sell (Matt); grandchildren, Andy, Jennifer, Ricky, Adam, Ashleigh, Jace, Courtney, Jordan, Aron, Hannah, Ryan, Zac, Jacob, Shayleigh; great-grandchildren, Evan, Matthew, Michael, Ozzy, Emrys, Xander, Shane, JD, Bryce, Madisyn, Brynlee, Brianna, Natalie, Ashlynn, Jesse Jr., Emma, Sarah, Maddie, David, and Gracie.

A Graveside Service will be held on Friday, December 29, 2023 at Forest Park Cemetery in Concrete at Noon. Followed by a potluck Celebration of her life at the Lyman Baptist Church. Share your memories of Harriet and sign the online guest register.
