Dorothy ‘Lohman’ Wadum passed away Tuesday, October 21, 2003 in Mount Vernon, WA at an adult family care home at the age of 87 years. She was born August 22, 1916 in Chicago, IL, the daughter of Frederick and Nellie Grant Hill. Dorothy was a Registered Nurse receiving her RN Degree from St. Frances Cabreni Hospital in Seattle in 1937 and for many years she worked at Swedish Hospital. She was married to Lyle Lohman in 1938 and they resided in Edmonds and later Kent until Lyle preceded her in death in 1966. She later married Max Wadum in 1972 and they resided in Alderwood Manor until his passing in 2000. Dorothy enjoyed crocheting, swimming, and gardening. She was an incredibly loving and caring wife, friend, mother, and grandmother and a fantastic R.N. at Swedish Hospital. She was preceded in death by her parents, a son Jerry Lohman, and a brother Fred Hill. Dorothy is survived by her sons Larry and his wife Kay Lohman of Edmonds, Gary and his wife Gail Lohman of Burlington, Dan Lohman of Mount Vernon, and Jim and his wife Martha Lohman of Onalaska, WI. Stepchildren Maxine ‘Sissy’ Weis and her husband Bob of Brier, WA and Bill and his wife Sue Wadum of Kenmore, WA. Numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
A Christian Memorial Service will be held Sunday, October 26, 2003 at 1:00PM at Lemley Chapel, Sedro-Woolley with Pastor Rick Miles of the Day Creek Chapel officiating.
