DOROTHY MARIE SCOTT, 85, a resident of Sedro-Woolley, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her loved ones, on Monday October 27, 2003, after a courageous and feisty fight with congestive heart failure.
She was born on November 13, 1917 in Carlstadt, NJ, to John Henry & Wilhelmina Schedler Block.
Dorothy met her husband, Leonard Henry James Scott in Gloversville, New York, where they were married on July 5, 1942. In 1943 they moved to Napa, California. In 1955 Dorothy embarked on a career in care giving as a Psychiatric Technician, as a Nursing Assistant and finally as a Licensed Vocational Nurse.
In 1975 she and Leonard moved to Washington State and in 1983 adopted Sedro-Woolley as their home. Leonard passed away on July 13, 2001.
Dorothy is survived by her six children, Paul A. Scott, Toni A. Scott, Bruce N. Scott, Jacque Lynn Brewington, Mark A. Scott, and Adrea Cheryl Tyler. Seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
She requests that memorials be made to the American Heart Association.
