Edwin ‘Ed’ Goeringer, 82, of Concrete, passed away Sunday, March 14, 2004 in Mount Vernon. He was born October 13, 1921 in Rocky Ford, Colorado to Alexander G. and Katharine E. Grasmick Goeringer. Mr. Goeringer had been a resident of Skagit County for the last 10 years, and prior to that lived in Whatcom County.
Ed was a member of Shepard of the Hills Lutheran Church of Concrete, Heskett Arnold Post #132, American Legion, Concrete, B.P.O. Elks Lodge #1604 of Mount Vernon, Nooksack Lodge #105, F & AM, Eagles F.O.E. Aerie #1444 of Concrete. His enjoyments in life included his family, friends, airplanes, gun trading, his little dogs and his horses. Ed served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II in the South Pacific, and he was stationed at Pearl Harbor at the time of the attack. Ed married Evalyn R. Knight, September 2, 1980 in Oak Harbor.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Katherine Maier. Survivor’s include his wife Evalyn, sons, Rick and Ron; step-daughter, Debra Sams; granddaughter, Lacey; grandsons, Keith, Jeremy and Brandon; great-grandson Jackson. Brothers, Elmer and Ruben and sister, Ruth Mahoney.
Funeral Services will be conducted, Thursday, March 18, 2004, 10:00 A.M. at Lemley Chapel with Pastor Rob Thomas, officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Park Cemetery, Concrete.
